Award winning freelance multi-camera director/Single Camera Director/Producer 

Julian is a versatile and highly experienced multi camera director of hit shows both in the UK and US. He works successfully in all genres but primarily specialises in setting up and launching large scale entertainment shows, music events and live performances - studio based or on location.

 

In the UK he has launched first series across all broadcasters; BBC stalwarts Pointless (Remarkable Entertainment ) and The One Show as well as Riddiculus (East Media) and What Would Your Kid Do? for ITV and Channel 4’s live game show The Million Pound Drop (Remarkable). He Series Directed Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother (Initial) for Channel 5.

 

Julian directs the BBC’s flagship live weekly political panel show Question Time (Mentorn Media) and for the last 15 years the ‘Other Stage’ at Glastonbury alongside other music specials for Kylie, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Craig David, Dua Lipa and Gary Barlow amongst others. Radio 1’s One Big Weekend (mainstage). Reading Festival (NME stage) and the iconic ‘U2 live from roof of Broadcasting House’.

 

More recently Julian was launch director for Queen of The Universe (World of Wonder/Paramount) series 1&2 - Ru Paul’s Lingo (CBS) and Name That Tune (Fox/Bigger Stage) series 2&3 

 

Most recently he directed the Netflix Special “Hannah Gadsby – The Gender Agenda. A comedy special featuring “the worlds absolutely funniest genderqueer comedians.” Julian worked closely with the production company to ensure that the crew backstage reflected the diversity of the comedians on stage.
